This slide deck is intended to provide examples of veterans from diverse backgrounds who have served in the Canadian military since the First World War. When using this slide deck as part of a Remembrance Day ceremony, we recommend choosing one hero from each conflict and presenting them to your students. Information about each hero can be found in the comments section of each slide in order to help teachers and students alike. Finally, we recommend to have the slide read aloud by both students or teachers.
In addition to activities related to Remembrance Day, this activity can also be used as an educational resource for history or social studies classes.
