Canadian General Hospital, Shorncliffe, England
Patients that required a long convalescence after an injury or who are very ill were usually sent to a General Hospital. There were General Hospitals in both France and England. Soldiers affectionately called England "Blighty," and gave the same name to injuries that might send them to England to convalesce.
